About the Maker

For over thirty years, I've been listening to wood - learning its language, respecting its character, and transforming it into functional art. Heritage Woodworks began in a small garage workshop, but my passion for sustainable woodworking and traditional craftsmanship has grown into a mission to preserve both the craft and the forests that provide these beautiful materials. I specialize in live edge furniture and custom cutting boards, working primarily with reclaimed wood and sustainably harvested local hardwoods - walnut, cherry, maple, and oak. Each piece of wood tells a story through its grain patterns, natural edges, and unique character marks. I never force wood into unnatural shapes; instead, I work with its inherent beauty to create pieces that honor the tree's original form. My workshop practices reflect a deep respect for the material and the environment. I source wood from local sawmills, salvage operations, and sustainable forestry programs. Every scrap is saved - larger pieces become smaller projects, sawdust goes to local farms for animal bedding, and even the smallest shavings are composted. Using traditional joinery techniques and hand tools alongside modern equipment, I create heirloom-quality pieces built to last generations.
